Biometric Data Information Retention and Destruction Policy for Applicable Illinois (and other states with similar laws) customers.
Introduction
Commeg Systems Inc. (“Commeg”) provides time management solutions and services to customers through TimePro® software either installed locally on the customers’ server or as a service based cloud installation on TimePro servers. In providing these particular services, the time clock terminals can be optionally equipped to transmit fingerprint template data (“Biometric Data”) of the customers’ employees to Commegs’ server when hosted by us or to the customers’ servers when installed locally for purposes of system maintenance and data storage.
Scope
This policy applies to the Biometric Data of the employees of Commegs’ customers who utilize TimePro installations in Illinois (and other states with similar laws).
Purpose
In accordance with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 Ill. Comp. Stat. Ann. 14/1 et seq.) (the “Illinois BIPA”),
Commeg maintains comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure the proper collection, use, safeguarding, storage, retention, and destruction of Biometric Data by TimePro Server Software. As required by the Illinois BIPA, Commeg further makes this available to the public its Biometric Data Information Retention and Destruction Policy.
Retention Schedule and Destruction Guidelines
Commeg shall retain Biometric Data for up to eighty (80) days following receipt of a customer’s or employee’s notice that the employee’s employment with the customer has ended. Once this time period has elapsed, Commeg will automatically and permanently destroy all copies of the employee’s Biometric Data in its possession.
Absent a valid warrant or subpoena issued by a court of competent jurisdiction, Commeg shall comply with the aforementioned retention schedule and destruction guidelines.

TIMEPRO CUSTOMERS SHOULD SEEK ADVICE OF LEGAL COUNSEL REGARDING SUCH USE. TIMEPRO CUSTOMERS WHO SELECT TO USE FINGERPRINT SENSORS DEVICES IN TIME AND ATTENDANCE AND ACCESS CONTROL PRODUCTS DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK AND ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR USE OF SUCH DEVICES IN THEIR BUSINESS OPERATIONS. ACCORDINGLY, TIMEPRO/COMMEG SYSTEMS INC DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR CUSTOMERS’ USE OF FINGERPRINT SENSOR DEVICES.
